With Thanksgiving and Christmas season upon us it is so easy to get caught up in making our wishlist for that next iPhone or drooling over sumptuous meals and making merry. Black Friday commercials bombard us with teasers of the latest and greatest gadgets at amazing prices. TV specials will soon be upon us singing Christmas carols of joy and love.
It is all so easy to forget this is also the time of year that is hardest on those who have less and are suffering. Believe me I know. I was recently reminded that there are friends who are less fortunate and are dreading the season and slipping into deep depression. They are jobless, facing bankruptcy, losing their homes, lost loved ones … the list is endless.
